West Campus SMART Housing Guide

SMART Housing is generally based for YOU (students) who work part-to full-time and make ABOVE a certain amount of income for the year.  IT is NOT based on what your parents make and contribute, BUT more so how much YOU make per year. The MORE you make the better chances of you getting SMART Housing.

This is a general guide to qualifications for SMART housing in west campus. BY NO MEANS is this a finialization or an EXACT number. Apartment complexes can and more than likely their exact numbers will vary. BUT you can use this as a guide, basically a generalization so that you can become familiar with SMART housing in the west campus area.

S.M.A.R.T. Housing stands for

Safe Mixed income Accessible Reasonably Priced Transit Oriented

SMART housing is generally offered for efficiency and 1 bedroom homes offered at reduced rates for those who qualify under the S.M.A.R.T. housing program.

  • There are certain homes offered around $599 and up for those with an annual income of $25,650*
  • There are certain homes offered around $899 and up for those with an annual income of $41,000*

General Guideline:

Up to 30% of this income can be through parental contribution. The remaining 70% can be comprised of employment, finiacial aid , and/or savings. If using finacial aid to qualify for a SMART housing rate, you must deduct your estimated tuition from the amount you are showing as income.   • Proof of finacial aid
  • proof of tution cost
  • parents can contribute up to 30%
